La Jolla = Home

I’ve lived in some amazing places in my life and even though I haven’t lived in La Jolla in 17 years (yikes!), I still consider it home.

Growing up, my family lived in a couple of houses in La Jolla, CA, but my favorite one is the one my parents currently live in. 

The best part of the house, other than the fact that I get to see my parents when I’m there, is the closeness to the Village of La Jolla. One of the first things I always do when I go home is walk through the Village.

Here are three “Chekammendations” for when you visit La Jolla:

1.    Girard Gourmet has the best sandwiches. They have amazing bread and made-to-order sandwiches and great to-go stuff. Check out the cookies and pastries in the window! 

2.    Walk across the street to Warwick’s Book Store. They have an amazing collection of books of all kinds, I love to go see if there are any books I have to have. It’s also a great place for gifts, they have great stuff!

3.    Last, but definitely not least, is my favorite stop – seeing the seals at the Cove! The Cove is a big park down by the ocean where you can picnic, watch surfers, see the view up and down the coast and of course, see the seals! It sounds crazy, but they are so fun to watch play on the cliffs and in the water. Seriously, don’t miss them!
